If you’ve found yourself on the foster seesaw and feel apprehensive about opening your life to an animal in need, please know two things:
1. You are not alone, and 2. You can do it.

Nobody ever regretted saving a life. Yes, people have called me, scared and confused, and wonder what they’ve gotten themselves into. But once they give it a shot, they call me back and tell me fostering is the best thing ever, and that it’s changed their lives in countless positive ways.

Most people in this country know our traditional animal sheltering system was started with the best of intentions. The mission was to save animals’ lives through rescue, medical care, and adoption. Somewhere along the line, that mission got lost, and our shelters turned into warehouses for animals that are held for a period of time and then euthanized. Few animals today get through the archaic system and into loving homes.

As we depart on our journey up north to Tinkerbell's forever home I wanted to share the beautiful bond between Judith & Tinkerbell-

Black animals are overlooked at shelters - it is time for this to change*
If you suffer from BAS (Black Animal Syndrome) you’re not alone. This is a treatable condition that affects thousands of creatures annually. Sometimes I find myself wondering, “Why doesn’t everyone spay and neuter their dogs (and cats)?” Sure, everyone knows this is what they’re supposed to do. And certainly people are aware of pet overpopulation and the unnecessary euthanizing of countless shelter animals, but awareness is only half the battle. We need to light a fire under people to spur them into action. It’s time to change the way we talk about this issue. Here’s a laundry list of problems caused by balls:
