Sometimes I find myself wondering, “Why doesn’t everyone spay and neuter their dogs (and cats)?” Sure, everyone knows this is what they’re supposed to do. And certainly people are aware of pet overpopulation and the unnecessary euthanizing of countless shelter animals, but awareness is only half the battle. We need to light a fire under people to spur them into action. It’s time to change the way we talk about this issue. Here’s a laundry list of problems caused by balls:
· Constant need to hump
· Horrifically stinky pee
· Marking everything. All the time.
· Chattering teeth caused by a fixation on other animals (imagine a blind senior dog fixating on every animal that crosses his path, whining and chattering, with no outlet for his unwanted sex drive)
· Running off and away from owners looking for some action
And who wants to see an intact partially paralyzed dachshund with chaffed balls attempting to hump a deaf senior American Eskimo mix with a slight head tilt? Not me.
